Custom Fields

Add custom fields to your process, like the Purpose, Scope, and SOP Objectives

You can add Custom Fields such as Purpose, Scope, and SOP Objectives to include more context and detail in your processes. These fields also help ensure that all key information is available when generating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using SmartFlow. Only administrators and stakeholders can view/add/edit/delete custom fields.

Custom Fields Tab

  1. Open any process, value stream or managed document

  2. In the right-hand side diagram content menu, the custom fields icon can be found

  3. When you select it, the custom fields tab will open

  4. To add a custom field, select the add icon (plus sign).

    1. Fill in the field title (purpose/scope/SOP objectives)

    2. Fill in the field value

    3. Select the green save button

    4. The custom field will display on your custom fields tab. The field value will display a maximum of three lines with ellipses if the text is more than that.

  5. To edit a custom field, select the edit icon next to it

  6. To delete a custom field, select the delete icon next to it

The below example depicts custom fields for a car insurance claim process displayed in the diagram content menu:

Take Note

  • Custom fields are available in processes, value streams and managed documents.

  • Custom fields button are available in the current state and future state, however the custom fields will only have a current state.

  • Custom fields are not available in the Library, History, Workflow or any Quickview screens.

  • Custom fields will be duplicated and transferred when duplicating or transferring an object.
