What is Dynamic Reporting?
Description
Dynamic Reporting is a powerful feature in ProcessPro that allows users to create custom reports from Plan or Form Submission data. Instead of relying on fixed, pre-built reports, you can design your own report layouts, apply filters, group data, add KPI summary cards, and export results in multiple formats.
The Report Builder provides a visual designer where you select fields, arrange columns, define filters, and configure grouping — all without writing code or SQL queries.
Why Use Dynamic Reporting?
Every team has different reporting needs. Dynamic Reporting lets you:
Surface the exact data points that matter to your role or project
Combine fields from Plans or Form Submissions into a single view
Filter and group data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and progress
Add KPI summary cards for at-a-glance metrics
Export reports as PDF, CSV, or Excel for sharing and offline analysis
Restrictions
Dynamic Reporting must be enabled at the company level by an admin via the
AllowReportBuildercompany setting. If this setting is disabled, the Report Builder will not be accessible.Creating new reports requires the
AddDynamicReportuser permission. Users without this permission can still view and interact with reports shared by others, but cannot create new ones.Deleting a report is a permanent hard delete — it cannot be undone.
Quick Steps
Accessing the Report Builder
Navigate to the Report Builder section from the main menu
The summary screen displays all report builders in a searchable, sortable DataTable
Columns shown: Report Name, Type, Owner, Created At, Updated At
Use the search input to filter reports by name — search is performed server-side for performance
Navigate between pages using the pagination controls
Creating a New Report
Click the Add button (visible only if you have the
AddDynamicReportpermission)In the modal that appears, enter a Report Name
Select an Object Type: Plan or Form Submission
Click Submit to create the report
The new report opens in the Report Designer where you can configure columns, filters, and more
Deleting a Report
Select the checkbox next to the report(s) you want to delete
Click the Delete button
Confirm the deletion in the confirmation dialog
The report is permanently deleted (hard delete — not recoverable)
If the report was published, it is also removed from the Reports > Dynamic Reports section
Clicking Cancel in the confirmation dialog leaves the report intact
Important Notes
Dynamic Reporting is a company-level feature. Your company admin must enable the AllowReportBuilder setting before any user can access the Report Builder.
The AddDynamicReport permission only controls the visibility of the Add button. All other actions (viewing, editing, deleting reports) are governed by the AllowReportBuilder company setting.
Deleting a published report immediately removes it from the Reports > Dynamic Reports section. This action is permanent and cannot be reversed.
