Create a Dynamic Form

How to create a new Main Form or Sub Form in ProcessPro Dynamic Forms, including SmartFlow AI generation.

Written by James Ross

Dynamic Forms can be created as either a Main Form (standalone) or a Sub Form (child form embedded within a main form).

Permissions

You need Settings access to create dynamic forms. For more on permissions, see Dynamic Forms — Additional Features.

Quick Steps

  • Navigate to Settings > Dynamic Forms

  • Select the green Add button at the top right of the summary table

  • The Add Dynamic Form card pops up with the following fields:

    • Form Name: enter a descriptive name for the form.

    • Type: select Main Form (this is the default) or Sub Form.

    • Owner: select role from dropdown.

    • Tags: select existing tag from dropdown or create a new one by typing it into the textbox.

    • Author: select user from dropdown.

  • Select the green Save button

A blank form canvas opens, ready for you to add fields.

Important: Sub Forms are designed to be embedded within Main Forms using Repeater fields. See Working with Repeater Fields for details.

Build the Form by Adding Form Fieds

Once created, you are taken to the form builder canvas where you can:

  • Drag and drop form fields onto the canvas to add them to the form

  • Configure field properties

  • Add business rules for conditional logic

  • Set up shared option lists for dropdowns

  • Preview and test the form
