Overview
The Risk Overview tab is the default landing page for Risk Manager. It provides a visual summary of your organisation's risk profile through heat maps and metric cards.
Accessing the Overview
Quick Steps
Navigate to Risk Manager from the sidebar
The Overview tab loads as the default page
Metric Cards
Six metric cards are displayed above the heat maps:
Total Risks — count of all risks in the company
Overdue Risks — risks with review dates in the past
Active Controls — controls with Active status
Overdue Controls — controls with review dates in the past
Uncontrolled Risks — risks with no linked controls
Reviews Due — risks and controls with reviews due soon
Each card is clickable — selecting a card navigates to the relevant filtered view (e.g. clicking "Overdue Risks" opens the Risks tab with the overdue filter applied).
Heat Maps
Two heat maps are displayed side by side:
Inherent Risk Heat Map — on the left, showing risk ratings before treatment
Residual Risk Heat Map — on the right, showing risk ratings after treatment
Heat Map Structure
Horizontal axis (bottom) — Impact levels
Vertical axis (left) — Likelihood levels
Cells — colour-coded according to the risk rating scale (green, yellow, red)
Numbers — each cell shows the count of risks at that likelihood × impact combination
Heat Map Legend
A legend is displayed below each heat map
Legend items match the risk rating configuration
Legend colours are consistent with the cell colours
Heat Map Behaviour
Risks without any rating do not appear on the heat map
Empty cells show no count (blank or zero)
Cells are colour-coded based on the score threshold (e.g. green for low risk, red for high risk)
Important: The heat maps reflect the current state of your risk register. After updating a risk's rating, the heat map will reflect the change on the next page load.
