Managing Controls

Control summary data table with search, sort, paging, and metric cards.

Written by James Ross

Overview

The Controls tab displays a data table of all controls in your company, with metric cards, search, sort, and paging. Controls are the measures you put in place to mitigate risks.

Accessing the Control Summary

Quick Steps

  • Navigate to Risk Manager

  • Click the Controls tab

Metric Cards

Four metric cards are displayed above the data table:

  • Total Controls — count of all controls

  • Active Controls — controls with Active status

  • Overdue Reviews — controls with review dates in the past

  • Controls Without Risks — controls not linked to any risk

Card counts are accurate and update when controls are created or modified.

Data Table Columns

  • Title — the control name

  • Category — Preventive, Detective, or Corrective

  • Type — Manual, Automated, or Hybrid

  • Effectiveness — effectiveness rating with colour badge

  • Linked Risks — count of linked risks

  • Owner — the assigned control owner

  • Review Date — next review date

  • Status — Active, Inactive, or Draft

Searching and Filtering

  • Enter a search term (e.g. "access") in the search box

  • The table filters to show only controls matching the term

  • Clear the search box to show all controls again

Sorting

  • Click a column header to sort (e.g. Title sorts alphabetically)

  • Click again to reverse the sort order

Paging

The table paginates for large datasets. Use the next/previous page buttons to navigate.
