Dynamic Forms: Preview

Use Preview to see how a form will appear to users, either while building it or when it is associated with a Draft process.

Written by Hylet Pistorius

You can preview a dynamic form from within a process to check it in its real context — the form as the process user will meet it — before the process goes live.

Why Preview from a Process?

Building a form and seeing it inside its process are two different tests. Previewing from the process confirms the right form is attached to the right activity and appears as users will experience it, while the process is still in draft. It is the last check before the form meets real users.

Quick Steps

Within a process:

  • Select the form icon in the right-hand side diagram content menu:

    • Main forms can only be previewed when the process is in draft status.

    • Sub forms can always be previewed.

Within the form builder, a Preview button is also available in the top right corner.

Important: The preview is read-only — submissions cannot be made from it. To capture actual data, the form must be linked to a published process.
