As a Stakeholder of a process, you can import a Word document while inside the process.

Importing processes can speed up the creation and editing to allow for an easy flowing process. It allows you to import activities, tasks, notes, activity tags, process objectives, process notes, triggers, inputs and outputs.

Upload a File

  • Open the process you want to import to

  • Click on the Import button

  • Select a file to upload

    • Click on Choose File and select a file

    • Drag and drop the file into the import area

      • .docx, .dotx and .docm files are accepted

If the file is too large you will be prompted to select a page range, this page range selector for Word files is not very accurate, we recommend converting the word file to a PDF and importing it that way as the PDF page selector feature is more accurate. The max file size to import is 3.99GB.

Each sentence will be broken up into its own section if it ends in a period and a space (". "). If there are bullets and numbered points, the system will split these records into their own sections whether they have a period and a space or not. Any information that has been added into a table will be rendered by row by cell. Each cell will be broken up by sentences as mentioned above.

If any data comes through that is not necessary, you can easily remove it by using the delete button below the section or selecting the section and pressing the delete (fn-backspace) button on your keyboard. You can also edit information if it does not come through correctly by using the edit button.

Images that appear in PDF and Word documents will appear in the Import panel and can be added to Activities in the Process. As there is no way of knowing the name of the image from the word document, the image will be named the import_document_ACTIVITYID (e.g. import_document_14825).

Once the document has been loaded, you can change the section types and drag and drop the sections onto the map to create a process.
