Reset a Map to Default View

If your map has become messy or difficult to read after moving items around, you can use the Reset button to tidy it up instantly.

Only administrators, stakeholders and users with Add Processes permission can unlock and reset a map's layout. The Reset button only appears when the map is Unlocked. You will find it located between the Padlock and the "Zoom to Fit" button.

What does "Reset" actually do?

It is helpful to think of the Reset button as a "Visual Cleanup" tool rather than an "Undo" button for your process changes.

  • It DOES fix the Layout: Clicking Reset will snap all items back to their original, neat positions and fix any connector lines that look tangled.

  • It DOES NOT fix the Sequence: If you used drag-and-drop to change the order of the steps (e.g., you moved the "Approval" step to happen earlier), clicking Reset will not move that step back to its old position in the flow. It will simply neaten the map based on the new order you created.

Why use Reset?

  • To clear the clutter: Use it when items are overlapping or the map feels disorganized.

  • To see the Timeline: If your Time and Cost timeline is hidden, clicking Reset will bring it back into view.

  • To fix lines: If connector lines are pointing in strange directions after you moved a node, Reset will recalculate the best path for those lines.

Note:

  • Any connections that have been manually changed will revert to their default state when the reset button is used.

  • The reset button will reset everything that has moved, including alternate paths. Nodes do not need to be moved for the reset button to be visible.
