Activity Types

User, Manual, Approval, Automated and Database Activities are all different types of activities

Activities can be categorized by type to make the process easier for users to follow. There are different types, each with its icon to easily differentiate.

User Activity

Indicates that this activity is performed by a person

Manual Activity

Represent tasks that are manually completed

Approval Activity

This approval is not linked to publishing, it is to highlight an area where internal approval may be required. An approval activity reflects on the map as a brown node with the same icon as the user activity type.

The approval activities report lists all the approval activities that appear within processes and value streams.

Automated Activity

Indicates that an activity is performed automatically rather than manually. Generally, this would refer to a system, like running a report overnight

Database Update Activity

Indicates that the activity is a database activity, like an update

The different activity types will display next to the activity title in the diagram content menu:
