This method allows the user to create a gateway with activities, process links and events that are already in the process map.

A gateway can be added using existing activities/ process links or events. OR it can be created with new activities.

Quick Steps to Create a Gateway with Existing Nodes

  1. Select one of the following methods to open the Gateway Popup:

    1. Right-click on the existing activity/process link/event on your map, select 'Options', select 'Add to a New Gateway'.

    2. Select the magnifying glass on the existing activity/process link/event on your map, select the Gear icon, select 'Add To New Gateway'.

    3. From the right-hand side diagram content menu: select the Gear icon next to the existing activity/process link/event, select 'Add To New Gateway'.

  2. 'Create gateway from existing nodes' card pops up:

    1. Set gateway type (parallel is selected by default)

    2. Add a gateway label (optional).

    3. Two options appear that allows the user to set a gateway using the previous or the next activity/event/process link. Select which one to use.

      1. If the first option is not selectable that is because it's either the start node or a decision or already in another gateway.

      2. If the second option is not selectable that is because it's either the end node or a decision or already in another gateway.

  3. Select the Add Gateway button.
