Once the Screen Recorder extension is installed, you can record any browser-based workflow. The extension captures your clicks, form inputs, and page navigations - along with a screenshot at each step - to build a structured process guide automatically.
Before You Start
Ensure the Screen Recorder extension is installed and showing as Installed in Settings
Have the process or workflow you want to document ready to perform
Close unnecessary browser tabs to reduce noise in the recording
Two Ways to Start a Recording
From Settings:
Navigate to Settings > Screen Recorder
Click Start Recording
The extension will begin monitoring your browser actions
From a Process Editor:
Open the process you want to add steps to
Click the Record button in the process editor toolbar
The extension will begin capturing actions within the current browser tab
What does the extension capture during the recording?
Clicks — each click on a page element is recorded as a step
Form inputs — text entries, dropdown selections, and checkbox toggles
Page navigations — moving between pages or tabs
Screenshots — a screenshot is taken at each step
Note: The extension only captures actions in the browser. Desktop applications, file system interactions, and system dialogs outside the browser are not recorded.
Stop a Recording
Click the Screen Recorder icon in your browser toolbar
Click Stop Recording
The recording will be processed and saved
Tips for Better Recordings:
Work at a steady pace - rushing can create too many intermediate steps
Avoid unnecessary clicks - each click becomes a step in your guide
Use clear form entries - type realistic values, not test data
Stay in one browser - the extension cannot capture actions in other applications
