A swimlane is an actual line on the map that visually indicates which role(s) are responsible for certain nodes/items on a map. A swimlane is automatically created when a new role(s) is assigned to an activity on the map.
A swimlane is only found in swimlane view, not embedded view. As a stakeholder or an administrator, you may want to add a new swimlane to a map to make your map easier to read.
