Activities, decisions, process links, processes, roles and swimlanes can dragged and dropped to new locations within the map.

As an administrator or a stakeholder on a process or value stream, you will see that a padlock has been added beside the zoom bar within the map area. This padlock signals whether your map is locked or unlocked to move nodes and swimlanes around. Nodes are the blocks that represent activities, decisions and process links.

If the map is locked, simply click on the padlock to unlock the map. When the map is unlocked you can select an item and drag it to a new location anywhere on the map.

To move an item to a new location, select the item and click and drag the item to the new location. Once the item has been dropped, the location will save and the other items within the map can be moved. Once the map is unlocked, a grid will appear to help with map alignment when manually moving nodes. For easier viewing and alignment, zoom in on the map to view the grid more clearly.

The connector lines may reposition when the map is locked and refreshed. This is due to the auto-calculations that are done when creating the connector lines. To fix these lines, simply edit the node (activity, decision or process link) and change the connector positions.

If items have been moved within the map and the time and cost timeline is visible, the timeline will be hidden until the map is reset to it's default view.

When changing views, each view will have its own saved state. This means that changing from swimlanes to embedded view will show that current view's state.

When printing maps that have moved nodes, the maps will look the same as the view that was selected.

If nodes are moved to new positions and the process is duplicated or transferred, the new map will show similar to the original map.

To reset the map to its default view use the reset button.

Move Swimlanes

The swimlane divider and the roles to the left of the map can be moved to a new position on the map. Simply click on the item and drag it to a new location.

Note: We recommend that moving nodes and swimlanes be completed as the final stage. If you create and move at the same time the map may not always load in a way that is expected. For example, a node may cover another one. This is attributed to the calculations being performed behind the scenes. Sometimes the connector lines will reset and can be adjusted manually.
