You would use the value stream if you want your users to quickly switch between high-level and the underlying processes. If a process is linked to a value stream, from the process you can navigate to the value stream and vice versa.
A user needs to have the Create Process Permission to be able to create a value stream.
Quick Steps to Create a Value Stream
Select Value Stream in the left navigation menu
Click the green Add button in the top right corner
Enter the Value Stream Details
To capture the details click Save
A blank, draft value stream will appear
To add an activity click Activity
To link another process click Process Link
To add a decision, click Decision
To add a new process, click Process
Publish the value stream when it has been completed
